Nice numbers....sounds like a quality vendor that does do what he says/advertises.......is TED new to the 6.5 scene, or is it that he's a recently found resource?
What did that Powerplant cost?

He has the upgraded oil cooler lines he bought off ebay so I will have to source a new cooler any one know where to buy?

If the cooler has standard pipe thread fittings Leroy [pmd cable] or Greg[lubrication specialist] site vendors and supporters, will sell you just the long/tru-cool cooler.

They've been selling on the auction site for a while. I almost bought one back in August when I decided to rebuild my motor. I'm kicking myself because I'm into that motor more than I'm into this one. From talking to Margaret, the sweet gal that answers the emails and phone, it sounds like they have good availability until the end of this month. She wasn't sure what availability would be after that.

The longblock was 1600 and freight was another 447. It would have been more if I would have had it delivered to my house. I have a forklift available to me at work, so I was able to unload it there and will load it into Paveltolz's truck tomorrow.

This TED/Margaret/whoever..., needs to be made aware of the premier 6.5 site on the internet if they are that good... They need to be a vendor here.

I know we've bought three engines from them [TTS members] in the last month so far. Maybe if we got three of us together to buy one each at the same time, they would give a group discount or something

Or maybe we're burning up their supply and they might raise their prices.

It's a matter of availability. Margaret told me that after March, they aren't sure what kind of supply they'll have. She didn't elaborate on what she meant.

From looking on Jasper's site, the 36 Mo warranty doesn't apply to the diesel motors. It's a 24 month. Still, it might have been worth a call since it went bad only a month outside of the warranty.

I did call jasper they happened to have their sales route guy drop by to talk to my manager and I asked him about this engine and he knew all about it though I dont think he planned to bring it up during this visit!! Anyway he offered for us to send back the motor and they would reman it again with no warranty for half price to which I said I was not interested based on my common sense as to that not being a good deal and the fact that the customer had already purchased a different engine!! I asked for help with the labor costs and he said he would try to get it approved so we will see!!! At least they are trying! I started the engine removal today but only had a couple hours so I didnt quite get it out yet.

Jasper is taking care of the cracked trans bellhousing under warranty and when I drained the transfer case the oil was full of metal so they are replacing it under warranty as well!!! They have not agreed to pay anything on motor but after this service I am impressed!!!!

That's certainly a nice goodwill gesture.
Tell the truth, I have not heard alot of good things about any Jasper engines the last 5 or 6 years where they seemed to be pretty well respected 10 or so years ago.

Between 99GMC and oilslick both calling regarding the same powerplant......You'd think they'd be inclined to revisit the "EXPIRED" warranty issue.

Whats the original owners paperwork state......3yr 100000 mi. is that the Jasper "norm"

http://www.jasperengines.com/warranty.php

Seems the 3yr 100000 mi is on "GAS PERFORMANCE" engines.....and also tranny's and Diff's

Diesel seems like 2yr.

Good deal, I figured maybe......if you don't ask, you'll never know!
