Ford 555a Backhoe

Looking at a 2wd one for 6700$. We had one at my old job and everyone beat the balls of it and it never that I can remember broke down. Anything I should know about them ? I seem to remember hearing somewhere that the engines a throw away or something ??

Can't say I know anything about them, but it doesn't sound like they're out of line, and for the price, you wouldn't have to do much digging to pay for it.

as much as I hate ford, I cannot speak down on their construction equipment. locals and friends have ford backhoes, and granted the folks we know dont tear stuff up, but they are still used and they seem to hold up well. I have no knowledge on the possible engine issue. all else fails? b series cummins, as they fit in alot of stuff. (some cowboy farmers dad knows ran dodges because at about the time the truck literally fell apart, they had blown something else up. got them in payloaders, tractors, etc)

I saw it at 10 pm at night online. By 8am the next morning it was gone. That was a no brainer.
