Flush Mount Fog Lights Anyone??

It takes an 800 Series Bulb. You can get Bulbs from 27w up to 50w Halogen in that Size.

...and 800 Series HID Kits are Avail everywhere. ;)

I'm thinking Mount them on the Sides of the Front Bumper, and if you Off Road or have Deep Tinted Windows, use them as Cornering Lights.
 
My tint is friggen dark. I cant see a thing at night. I dont think additional lights would even help. I have to put the windows down to be able to see anything.

Its great during the day time though.

How dark is your tint? I'm wanting to go 35 on the front windows and 20% over factory tint in the back. I was even thinking about 50% on the windshield.
 
Well, it's measured in two different ways.

1, the amount of light transmittal and 2, the actual percentage of the tint.

The 1st way tells you how much light actually makes it through the window.

The second way tells you exactly what percent the tint is.

Now, all the glass in our vehicles (or in any vehicle made today) comes with factory stained glass. It's not tinted, it's stained and at around 73-78% light transmittal. That means that the factory stains it so that ~ 77% of the suns rays penetrate the glass.

So, any layer over the factory stained glass is gonna make it seem darker. Now, I previously had 20% on my windows but I got it darkened to 10%. 5% is typically limo tint.

When you go to a tint shop, they're gonna ask you how dark do you want it. I told the guy that 20% was whats on there now and I want to darken it up.

So, it's 10%. It's friggen dark.

Attached is a shot of my tint meter from about 3 years ago when I first traded in my 04 and got my 07. These are factory stained glass windows and the tint meter shows the percentage of the stained glass.

I think I am going to get 2 of those and drill holes in my rear bumper and wire them to my reverse lights....good find james
 
Just a word of caution as I have worked with some of these lights in boats. Many of these lights will melt out of the water as they require water to be present to cool them. Keep the wattage to a minumum is key here as they do not vent to cool on some of these.

These Exact Lights, or ones like them?

These are made by Hella, so I'm sure they've done their Homework on them.:thumbsup:

Absolutely.

They are Projectors, so there will be Little to No Light Above the Cutoff, but Below it, it will be BRIGHT.

Don't let the 37.5w Bulbs Fool you. These Lights and the Blazer (Company Name, not Blazer as in Chevy) Versions are VERY VERY Bright with only 37.5w of Light.

I have 2 Sets of the Blazer ones, Clear and Ion, and they are Incredibly Bright. With an HID Kit in them, even though they are Fogs, you won't be able to Tell if your Lows are on.
 
If I still had my Stock Bumpers On my Truck, I'd prob. Cut them to Hell to do some Crazy things with these Lights.

But I Don't, but I am still Thinking of what I can do with them, either on my Truck, or other Vehicles.
 
yeah def gonna order 2 of them and use a hole saw on the factory rear bumper and tie them to the reverse lights....any idea where I can buy the plugs to plug into them
 
It's just a Standard 800 Series Plug. You can get them at NAPA, Autozone, Walmart, ect...

I'd Run a Relay on them though so they are Nice & Bright. You can Tap all the Power / Ground Wires Off the Trailer Harness.
