I serviced my truck today with all new filters and an oil change. I was checking the fluid level in the trans and I have a question. It is now great weather and I only get a little trans temp around 110 - 120. So is that considered "Hot" or "Cold" ????? My level looks great in the cold marks but doesn't even come close to the Hot marks. So is my level good or low? Are the considering running temp hot or are the considering my summer temps Hot?????

that is considered hot temp. just needs a top off. not too much. did you replace the spin-on when you services it?

Ken

Yes I do the spin on around 10K or so. I will top it off when I get home tomorrow after work I figure 42 mile of rush hour traffic will get it warm enough...

when you do the spin on, do you fill it up before you put it back on? if not, do you put any fluid back in? just throwin ideas out there.

Ken

ah, just checking. id top off, and check around the front by the cooler. check the lines for any wetness. i havent read too much about it, but i guess the lines corrode and break? all i know is that they can go bad, and leak. if no wetness, then check the level in a few hundred miles.

Ken

idealy you want it half way up the hot hash marks. more than that it will get hotter and spew out the vent.

Thats what I am trying not to do. I spent $$$$$$ having the idiots at the stealer replace seals when I finally did some research and found I hade atleast a quart to much, which they put in..... :mad2:

Now with the temps in the teens in the morning more times then not, mine won't go over 130* by the time I get to work. This is driving 50-55 miles on highway and open country roads. When I first bought the truck, in October, even on warmer days, it would not get over 145*
