So how does one go about removing these? Is it the same process as debadging ? I hate how much dirt they collect around them, not to mention they just look like :ciappa:
 
Are you talking the door edge guards or the fake chrome handles? Mine had the fake chrome handle covers on it and looked awful. I took them off with a hair dryer (a heat gun is too much), and a plastic windshield install tool to pry out on them until I could get a grip with my hand. Then applied pressure and heated the attached area at the same time until they came off. Then use 3m adhesive remover to get rid of the glue. Same method would work for the door edge guards.
