I am in the market for some external storage and figured I would see what people use. I currently have an 80 GB drive hooked to a USB port. I want to go NAS this time so there is one central point for backing up, storing, etc. I want to go no less than a unit with two 1 TB drives. One will back up the other. Any suggestions would be great.

I've been out of he IT world for awhile, but don't you need a software package that allows you to back up to the NAS array? My nephew is a 3rd year electronics engineer, and is quite the geek. He talks about a product called BackupAssist which is a front end for the NAS. It ain't cheap tho about $250...yikes.

If you worried about back up. I use a cloud based back up... I use Mozy.com for mine $4.95 a month for unlimited storage...
