WoW, Just got my exhaust leak fixed. Been there for a while, If I had to guess I'd say just about 18 months or more. I kinda knew but always attributed the loudness to maybe needing the exhaust manifolds resurfaced. From what I remembered when I put the 4 inch pipe on it had a reverberation or echo sound when I drove down roads where people had fences. That sound hasn't been there in quite a while but assumed it was to do with the muffler changing the sound as it broke in. About 11 months ago I put an ATT turbo on and it'd smoke like crazy off hard off the line. And had a fair bit of turbo lag. Not anymore. The truck is very responsive and boost comes up incredibly fast now. And the sound of reverberation is back. Turns out the donut gasket on the drivers side was leaking. I know I should have fixed the leak back when I noticed it but didn't want to hear you need a new manifold or we broke a stud. Guess I was waiting for head gasket failure. lol. Anyhow as for new found performance, I actually heard my tires squeal off the line today. Any turbo lag is now minimal.

Glad you got it fixed Ed.

I know when my donut on the drivers side went with the GM-4 I lost at least half the boost and it ran crappy.

The egt's are now much lower, They were about 600 at 50mph and now they are just above 400. At 60 mph they are just under 500 whereas before they'd be about 700 if I recall. I am really looking forward to towing up the Coquihalla hill now but won't be doing that till mid April.

I now have a tentative appointment with Bill on March 9th. I will be driving down there and Bill is going to test drive my truck and tweak the HP4 as he feels it would best match the engine / turbo / truck. If anyone needs anything from Heath and lives in the lower mainland of BC. Let Bill and I know and I'll bring it back to Surrey for you. This will save you shipping charges as well as duty since I have declared as much as 450 without them batting an eye at the border. If you live elsewhere in Canada I can COD it to you from BC. Ed
