So I am towing a huge load a few days ago and my truck start to overheat like a mother ****er and I look and there is no coolant so I add some and it blows out the tail pipe and I add more and same thing. I park it for a 2 days and try again and same thing. I finally get it to the dealer and they tell me I am the third one this week and its the EGR cooler thats doing it. SO my question, they are fixing this under waranty (amazingly) but will and EGR delete fix this for good? Who makes the EGR delete kits?

Elite make a sneaky pipe. You will liley need some real tunes to shut the EGR off also so no codes are thrown. Give me a call if you need some advise

Bill the coolant is flash heating, likely gonna need gaskets and Studs finally.

Who did you take it to?

There was no coolant in the oil so I don't need studs yet....lol....its at the Ford Dealer in Sierra Vista....Nice service writers there....I should drive there more often

Just because you dont have colant in your oil doesnt mean you dont have a problem. Check your overflow bottle. Does it have a white crusty film over it? I bet it does. Your probably puking coolant out of that bottle. Either get a blocker plate or the entire sneeky pipe, and do studs. Dont get H-11's, ARP's do just fine. And you will need a custom SCT to turn off the EGR system like he mentioned above. Throw the SUperchips in the garbage. 99% of the power adders we sell for the 6.0l is an Innovative Diesel Custom SCT. Hands down the best tuner on the planet for a 6.0l. The 5R110 is a great transmission with the right tuner. I have customers at 550 hp on a stock transmission. Call Ragin or call me, but call someone before you hurt that monster. My 05 F350 was at 440hp with just a tune, intake, and exhaust. You wont believe the differance in a custom.

The superchips was free, I am puking coolant, it was doing ti before the tuner, I'll get studs when the gasket blows, and we'll see if I "f" up th EGR cooler again since its being fixed.

I promise you it will need gaskets. VERY rarely does it truely happen and not need gaskets and when they arn't done it's not very long before it happens again..

Oil in coolant doesn't mean squat on your 6leaker. It's the loss thats a problem.

Patrick and I have been in this for long enough we see this almost daily.

Good custom tunes go a longway on the 5r110. I have spoken to you about them before and I really like Innovative tunes as Eric really has perfected the trans tuning.

Thanks Patrick. Patrick is a super Vendor guys and has been in this for a long time.

Tadd has great tunes also. Dont sell yourself short. I would run either. The fact is I have seen more blown headgaskets with Banks, Diablosport, Superchips, and Edge tuned trucks than a 160hp custom SCT from a good tuner. Most companies tuning is very general, and the headgasket problem with the 6.0 is a delicate situation. Improper injection timing is the big killer. The wrong timing will give you high cylinder preasures causing the problem. Buying a Custom SCT tuned by Tadd from Shawn would be a big step in the right direction. If you get to the point that the dealership pulls your heads, make sure they check them to be true and flat. Headstuds will not fix a warped head.

ive only known of one truck that has gotten the egr cooler without hg's. he then went in a month later for the cooler again an hg's

Dunes...all you need now is a LMM to complement the others brands you own...write it off as bought for bumper fitment testing...

that would be cool to own one of each brand...but I don't make the big bucks you do...;)

Are most people getting the 6 liter figured out now, haven't heard as much bad as of late, unless it is due to a model coming out.

all the probs I have heard from peeps and the 6slow was in the 2006 model....did they change something? Our 2005 had 80k when we sold and it never had a hiccup....

My 05 had a blocked EGR, but we do alot of buisness with our local dealership, and they did headgaskets and studs under warranty.

Most 6.0 problems were actually 03 and 04, but that doesnt mean the 05s and up didnt go thru some gaskets.

Honestly if you completly get rid of the EGR and stud it the engine will run flawless forever. The 6leaker can hold about 700HP without needing internal mods. We are about to test that theory in about a month. The trans starts giving fits about 550.

I have had an 03 6.oh and was very happy with it, but it had been aprt and done right. The 06-07's are doing a little better but the EGR cooler is the problem that spins everything out of control.

I know patrick had a 6slow and has been happy with it also.

im copletely happy now with all the bugs out of it. i really never wasnt happy i just knew it was a matter of time.

SO we go and get the Ford today from Lawley Ford down there in Sierra Vista...great guys there by the way...and on the way down the A/C take a crap on us...lmao...bad luck going down there, I should stop. So the Dodge is at the dealer there getting the A/C done and we have the Ford back....If it goes again Its getting studded with the delete kit...

How much does that sct tuner go for? My brother has an 04 F-250 CC SB p-stroke Harley edition that he wants to try and make keep up with my 01 d-max. He's looking for his best option in keeping it together and affordability.
