Finally got my cable to hook my phone pics into the computer and I was hoping to have a download site instead of a cd to install because my CD (DVD) ROM drive quit long ago. I'm intimidated about replacing it since it's something I've never looked at before. I'm told it's simple to replace but that remains to be seen. What about if I swapped out the write driver with the read one? or any advice appreciated. HP 700 about 10 years old. (yeah I know... No $ for a new one right now.)

Replacing the drive with a new one is super cheap and really easy

You can get a DVD RW for about 30 bucks and installation is 4 small machine screws and 2 cables. There is no magic or mystery about it

Thanks. That's what I've been told. Actually I just downloaded through the other driver (write). So now I know what shitty quality photos my phone takes...:rolleyes5:
