DO: Try to buy a tow strap that does NOT have a metal hook on it
DO : Make sure the strap is not twisted before fastening to two points.
DO: Know the ratings of the receiver hitch,shackles, pulley,winch,rope,etc. that are used together
DO NOT: Use a strap,chain,or other device that is rusty, frayed, or in otherwise bad condition. Maintain the equipment and it will serve you well.
DO NOT: Stand anywhere near the recovery area
Start a pull without a "line weight" in the middle of the strap or winch cable or other suitable device like a blanket if a weight is not available.
DO NOT: Try to fix a strap that snapped by tying the two parts together.
