I cleaned mine with a pressure washer when I had the engine out and I too have the web of hairline cracks on the aluminum diff housing. No leaks so I'm not going to worry about.

Now that my underside isn't oil soaked. It seems I too have a slight diff leak. Although it appears at quick glance its coming out between the 2 halves, It may be coming from an axle side, havn't really looked too hard at it yet...
Also, the surface of my diff is very clean, and it appears there are a ton of hairline cracks all over it. This normal?.... No Camera still, don't don't throw that sign at me.
A few months later, It appears it IS weaping very slightly from inbetween the 2 halves of the pumpkin.
I am not a believer of that stop-leak stuff, but I think in a completely sealed enviroment such as a diff, it may have a chance to work. However, there are no diff-seal additives at the local parts stores...........
Anyone have any input on diff sealers (additive type?)...
I guess I could wait till next year to drop it, and re-goop the halves together, and do the axle seals too i guess would be smart thing.... Sure as heck aren't doing it this year... I can deal with a drop every 4 days or so...
