How do I make it so it doesn't do windows updates and restart while in sleep mode? It does it in the middle of the night and always wakes me up from the fan and hard drive noise.

I am not a Win 7 expert but you should be able to disable automatic updates and do them manually.
 
I don't care if it does automatic updates, I just don't want it doing it in sleep mode. I will probably do that though if there is no other option.
 
Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Windows Update click on setings and make the changes you want too

I couldn't find where to get to all control panel but found the windows update setting eventually. It was set to 3 am.
Hopefully that takes care of it and doesn't spoil my sleep ever again.
