Death of Oil Analysis?

That's a lot of "experience" to make up for. For $249.00 I can get 30 oil samples done professionally.

If you ever used an IR temp gun you know this technology is S H I T as far a repeatability and accuracy.

These have been available ( slightly different by mfr) in the oil industry for rough field checks. They are not worth it imo.

Yeah, the full test is still the most accurate, and if you want to save money: http://leroydiesel.com/products/lubricheck-oil-analyzer/

It is as accurate as the lubricheck, but not so much better to justify the price difference. Another 3-4 years when they can sell it for $75 then yeah.

Every time I use the LubiCheck the results are exactly what I think they would be. Is it reading my mind or checking oil? ;)
