I was offered a military 24v db2 for what seems like a decent price, and there's some listed on ebay. Sounds like a pretty easy thing to "swap the caps", but is it really, and is that all there is to it?
The book I have shows four connections:
Housing Pressure Cold Advance (HCPA) solenoid
Internal Fuel Shut off solenoid
Fast Idle Solenoid
Throttle Position Sensor
The first three apparently get battery voltage (and return is through the housing.... hmm, grounds at work here?). The throttle position sensor inputs to the Transmission Control Module. It doesn't say, but I'd guess it's some kind of proportional resistive device, which at full scale would again be battery voltage.
So the question is....... Are all the functions contained within a "cap" that is simply swapped, or is there some other monkeying around required to use the military version?
