Day in the Hayfields 1904

That is a cool vid. A reminder of how hard haying was back then. That's also how so many fires got started with all the loose hay stacks in barn haymows. That lady playing with the kids would be up on abuse charges in today's sterile air environment for the little darlings. Of course, anybody that's hayed in the last 10 years (small squares) knows just how hard it is to find kids who will even set foot outside, let alone help bale...

Thanks Brian!

glad to hear you guys know how to do this ,after the revolution there won't be any powr so this will be it

When I was a kid I would play in the hay just like that vid. Unfortunately my allergies/asthma has gotten worse as I've gotten older. I'd be in a hospital now if I pulled a stunt like that.

There's a couple old dump rakes sitting out in the weeds at home. Makes my rear end hurt just looking at those guys bouncing along on that steel seat.

You could get quite a few bucks for those at a consignment sale in a city area.
Yeah, that's some tough seat time.

You exactly right. We can get some people to come out and help us but when its time to get out of the tractor and throw tires onto the pile they're gone.

That guy we hauled for in Illinois has the local football team come out and cover his 18,000 ton trench.

And now for a day in the hayfields of 2010
