Dash upgrade

So I have a GMC Sierra K1500 and thinking of swapping the interior with a 1999 or newer. Will a newer dash work in my truck? I assume ill need to swap door panels and much more, I want to put a sound system with GPS backup cam with a decent sized screen for multimedia. If possible a full LCD type insrument cluster. There's a few companies that have them. But first the dash and interior any information would be appreciated thanks.

I personally have no experience with swapping out the dash from a GMT400 to 800, however needed to give you a proper welcome. Anything will work with enough custom fab but I am not sure if the mountings are interchangeable between the two. I'm sure there will be others here to chime in.
