The gauge cluster in this truck has always been a tad hinky, and the P O had installed a manual temp gauge.
Voltage, grounds and such can effect the entire system.
I suspect this is the issue.
This engine block is an AMG 506 casting that was made in 2002, and has the oil squirters in the main line.
These engines were notorious for lower pressure.
The clearances in the bottom are a tad loose at .0025 on the rods and .003 on the mains
If need be we can swap the 15-40 oil for some 20-50 diesel grade and that will help the hot pressure.
Cold it runs 50 psi
Biggy though is to get a real gauge on the beast and see what it says.
