Tried to replace my CPS. Pulled out half the sensor. Stuck a rod inside the hole to see how deep the other half was, but rod went in 3-1/4". Since sensor is only about 2-1/4", I'm guessing I wasn't hitting the other half of the sensor.

Would it be in the oil pan or somewhere else? Can the oil pan be dropped while engine is in truck (2WD)?

Would the other half have caused any damage?

It may have been broke awhile, the reluctor may have chewed/broke the end off. How hard did you have to pull, or did it just slide rite out.

I dont think I would worry about it, should sit in the bottom of the oil pan and not cause a problem.

If you think you pushed it out, you could pull the timing cover(good time for T/chain and HO W/pump), I'd think it would still be sitting there at the front and you could get it with some long needle nose.
