driving my new to me '06 cc around town (unloaded) on streets and highway and the coolant temp is hanging just under the 210 mark ambient temp today was 82 degrees. Just wondering if this is normal for this particular engine, seems a bit high to me.

Sounds Correct to me.

My Needle barely gets to the 1/2 way Mark no matter what. Usually it's Closer to the Mark between 160 & 210.

Highway will bring it up a lil more, while Around Town Driving keeps mine Low.

It's actually about 190 when it's a shade below the 210 mark as you describe. Totally normal. On the highway unloaded it stays between 191 and 195; highest I've seen is 203 IIRC in 95* summer temps with the speed steady at 80. It cools down quickly once the T-stats open.

This is the temp as read on the scangauge- not the needle on the dash, btw. The needle is only somewhat ballpark accurate.

thanks guys, graduating up from the 6.5L where temps had to be kept in the arctic zone, I wont worry too much about it then.
