I have a 2005 GMC 3500 4x4 6.6 170,000 miles, coolant leak coming from left rear of engine, head gasket? As anyone encountered this problem.

Isn't there an oil cooler on the left side? I seem to remember a pipe approx 1.5" diameter that goes from the front of the motor to the back and it probably has o-ring seals on it.

Yes. Mine had a leak there after i replaced the water pump. Pinched seal from loosening it to remove pump. New seal and leak went away.

Mine had a coolant leak coming from the left rear of the engine. It turned out to be coming from the engine oil cooler. Tech at dealership initially re-torqued all the cooler to engine block bolts, but leak came back after 5,000 miles. finally ended up replacing all gaskets and seals to fix it.
