Those are just plastic wheel covers on standard steel wheels.

Nope, they are plastic covers. I was wondering the same thing until I looked at a buddy's truck... definitely plastic. And for the new bumpers... that is a big improvement over the current design.

the best is when the glue starts to seperate from the chrome cover and every time the tire makes a full rotaion you hear a clicking sound from the plastic rim rubbing on the center cap.....

I take it you have had issues with your "chrome clad" (as gm calls them) wheels.

Yeah, my friend's dad has an 08 CCLB Dually with the chrome covers, they look nice, but definatly dont' hold up. he's already destroyed 2 of them and is considering switching to just steel wheels and trim rings.

I love the new bumper, it makes the NNBS look way better, more like a truck, less gaudy, and more functional.
