My uncle put on 29k miles on thos truck before he died and now it has 41k before the spin-on was changed. I had noticed it was flaring the 3-4 shift and thought maybe the tranny was slipping. Changed the spin-on and it just shifts it and gets it. They said the internal needs changing at 50 k, would this be a good time to do a trans-go?

You will be dropping the pan to change the internal filter so the timing would be perfect. Thats just about the point when mine was done.... I would also suggest changing the external more often. I do mine ever 10K.

I noticed a huge difference in mine after changing it after 50K ...

I try and do mine at or around every 10k miles. I've never noticed any difference though.
