The whole thing started in Dec 2010 when I purchased my first ever 97 4x4 6.5 Suburban. That's when the problem started !

First I became obsessed by getting the Burban the very best of care;
A full maintenance - all fluids changed, new ball joints, new pads, new switches mirror, new glow plugs, new wiring for the grounds, new batteries..

So now the Burban sits nice and proud with everything working very well.. She springs to life in sub artic colds, muddles through traffic with ease and gives me a very very nice fuzzy feeling while driving this beast.

The issue is that now I am finding excuses to drive the Burb.. I take the truck for drives, pile the dogs in and go cruising. I take it to work, sitting nice and comfortable with plenty of elbow and leg room, it feels like sitting in my living room . I drive bit slower , enjoying the constant gurgle of the diesel , sipping a nice coffee, now the morning drives are very bearable.

Funny though I put my flasher to change lanes, well guess what, someone lets me in and this happens all the time with such regularity that I feel like I am alone on the highway.

Now I look forward to drive in mid week traffic, to and from work , wow my mornings are fun!!

My wife things I am off my rocker, since on weekends I spend time with my new mistress, fill up the washer fluids, get the Burban washed, take her for a drive.. My nights are consumed by lurking in this forum looking for tidbits of useful information to help my new girl. Talking to Bill who has taken a shine to what I am planning to do in terms of upgrades and budgeting for my mods.

I look forward to driving now, I like the way she handles me, carving out traffic while keeping me in relative comfort.

The question ! I am off my rocker ?? Or is this just temporary?? Will it pass ( I hope not)

Yer HOOKED! YeeHaa!!! Got another one...:hihi:

BTW, My wife refers to the forum as "diesel porn"...

Tightgroup, you have officially been 'had' by the diesel-bug.

NICE!

Yeah, a Corolla gets 40 mpg. But seriously, how much fun is that morning communte when your coffee cup keeps spilling from the bouncing and vibration of the rough roads?

Welcome to the club...

Hi, I'm Jim Faire and I am an addict ... :)

This is what it can lead to[see my sig] Be careful!:rolleyes5:

I'm Steve Big T, and I'm a Burb addict.

My dogs jump in cause they know the Burb takes them to fun.

My wife does the same.

It goes offroad.

You can sleep two, plus the dogs.

Did I tell you it's diesel? With some umph and an ATT?

Yes I'm a Burb addict.

It is contagious, as I never thought about getting one...till a few months ago. now I have a dead Sub in Idaho I need to ressurect! :) I am thinking of ways to use it, and it isnt even running yet!

My name is Rob and I'm addicted, I'll join the suburban anonimous club also. I bought it to tow our camper, and find myself driving it all the time.

I make excuses to drive it also. I tell my wife, well it only get 2 mpg less than the eldo and you don't want me to let the burb sit for a long time, and find a problem only after the family is going somewhere.

It's not as fast as the caddy, but it's just as comfy. It's all of the above posts, the smell, feel, sound, and yes taste.

I love my [turbo wiesel] sub. It does it all and puts a three mile smile on my face.

I'm already looking for another one , pick up or sub, doesn't matter, but damn these subs are so useful, only thing it won't do is tow a fiver.

My wife took the Burb to work today instead of her Mercedes SLK 280. She found a bookshelf on sale that she had to have and so once again the Burb serves its purpose.

I always thought this place was kinda like a 12 step program (Hi my name is Gus and I´m an addict). The only problem is you just get more addicted.

Damn all ya'll. I'm a 6.5 junkie, but haven't found a burb yet (and the Mrs isn't fully on board with it. She's getting there, though :Justwait2:)

Can't wait to find one.

It's an addiction. The worst part is being on a forum of like minded people, as it's like a fire that feeds upon itself. It just keeps growing!!

Glad to hear you love the 'Burb. I really liked my 98 Tahoe (gasser) and I miss it every once in a while. Then I go WOT in my SSEi and the world seems to be back in order. ;)

I might sell my truck for the beginning of a down payment on a BMW 335d, but then that doesnt really jive with the thread. I hope the seats in the Beamer are comfy. But the only way I would do that is if I replaced my pickup for a diesel Burb! I sent the dealership in Oregon selling that 94 dually burb an email. I told them if it runs well on the highway (no vibrations or issues with the conversion) and they would consider a significantly lower price I would purchase it with cash. Then I could go hog wild with the pickup's engine until I cant afford to play with it anymore.

Come to my web site and look around. What could it hurt? come on what could it hurt? All your fiends are doing it. Enjoy your fix time there.

Burning oil, just curious, what was the purpose of your post ??

Looks like he was being humerous, pretty funny. Get your fix (a compulsively sought dose or infusion of something) for the 6.5 addiction with upgrades and replacement parts.

My name is Patrick and my addiction has taken over my business and personal life.

My Suburban is spooky powerful, runs on American fuel, is cleaner than a Toyota Prius and can haul 7 skiers anywhere while towing anything. All with the help of a bunch of fellow junkies.

Welcome aboard!

PS, when I first got my Burb, I had trouble with many of the mountain passes in Idaho, always hunting for a gear not enough power etc. Last night, I came home from McCall, climbed over Horseshoe Bend hill at 70, 4th gear, TC locked, slowing down for the corners. OH YEAH, blowing down the doors on a couple unexpecting Powerstrokes too. Sorry!
