Is there any reason why I shouldn't be able to take my Tekonsha prodigy brake controller out of my 02 silverado and put in my 02 suburban?

as long as the pigtail that goes to the trailer brake harness on the truck is the same, it should just be plug and play. being as how it is from a full size truck to a full size SUV of the same year, i see no issues
