Big Turbos

Those are interesting!

I have seen a turbo charger from a GE locomotive on a KT1150 Cummins- powered pulling semi!!!

And to answer your question: It took about 40 to 45 seconds to spool that charger with full fuel. The funny thing was at the end of his run, it took about 20 seconds for that thing to "unspool" after he pulled back the throttle!!!

Regards,

The one in the Second Pic is going on my Truck next Week.

Just gotta wait for the Trailer that's gonna Hold it to get done. ;)

I couldn't find that out on the sites I found the pics. I'm thinking the "big" one has to be mated to something around this size:

http://people.bath.ac.uk/ccsshb/12cyl/

Maximum power: 108,920 hp at 102 rpm
Maximum torque: 5,608,312 lb/ft at 102rpm

Would that fit on your trailer?:D

thats a big ass engine?!?!? 5,608,312 lb/ft....talk about a dyno melter......i need to change my pants!! wonder what kind of fuel pumps that things uses!! i bet the fuel lines are big as 10" sewer lines!!!

just read about that big motor........1,660 gallons of heavy fuel oil per hour.
i think that would blow the tiers out on my trailer!!!

Cruise Boat or maybe a Tanker?

probably is a cruise boat or tanker.....i thought all them were going nuclear like the navy ships??

"just read about that big motor........1,660 gallons of heavy fuel oil per hour."

Just think of how many miles/hours that thing runs. Remember that when the fuel prices go back up and they blame the average joe smoe like you and i driving our fuel guzzling trucks.
