hey guys we have a used nav that is supposed to be in an escalade or the likes, and we need to put it in a tahoe. the junk yard sent it and cant seem to find the one we need. is there a way to program it to make it non lux?

i actually took a luxury nav and put it in my truck without the lux option last night. the only thing i had to do was have it unlocked.

all i know is i took it straight out of an escalade, put it in my truck and it works. your probably right though i just thought all escalades had lux.

I think a tech II can do it. There are simple instructions on how to properly program them with one. I had my stock cd player done for lux at the dealership and it cost me 60 bucks. Its literally 30 seconds with it plugged in. Reversing it should be exactly the same.

My nav was originally a non lux. It was programmed for lux so it is possible with a tech II.

You know, I never tried. Thats a good question. I'll tell you though, my biggest complaint is that I now have to remove the nav disc to play cd's, which I rarely do anymore...I smell a 6 disc changer coming here once I get some extra funds.

I have a 2007.5 Silverado 2LT non-bose stereo and bought the factory nav for it off ebay and tried to put it in and the screen is white. Does it have to be re-programmed at the dealer? I know I have to add an amp and run speaker wire to the door speakers to make it work. I hope I didn't but a broken unit? Any help?

anybody find the "boy" to help me out? I really want to get this thing in and running.
Thanks again for the help
