Well if I put my original (2002) BCM in the truck the airbag light is off, but that BCM isn't programmed for the options in the truck that I want. If I put the parts truck (2001) BCM in the truck the airbag light is on, but the options I want work. So if I use the 2001 BCM I can have it programmed for my SDM by the procedure you describe?
