AirDog 150

Ok, so I will be running the PPE Hot+2 mostly on 300hp tune but at the track I will run the 350hp tune so which pump do you think I need? I was looking at the Air-Dog pumps because they look like they have a good filter system on them and I like that because of the injector issues with the LB7. Oh yea probably later on a Fleece turbo to:D. Thanks, Kyle

your right phil the 150 would be best for what he's doing. yea they have a very good filtering system on there down to 3 micron.

:smile5:thanks phil

yea tyler shoot me a pm and i'll set you up. glad to hear joverman, we are working on setting up w/ trans go right now, so hopefully within the next few weeks. i agree you don't need the billet pickup. the suction tube will be sufficient enough. also you can expect to see about a 1-2mpg increase, b/c of the kit giving your motor pure fuel and no air bubbles. this will also lower egts a bit and give you more pedal power.:seeya:

will you see 1-2mpg improvement with the 150?

Guys, I put my A/D150 on a few months ago, and can't be happier with the results, nor with the service I received from Kyle @ XDP. I went ahead with the larger p/u tube that was supplied because ya just never know when ya might wanna do something on a larger scale :D. The install was simple, but I have heard of many using the factory p/u, I just figure ....WHY. Anyways, I did modify the mounting bracket of mine so that it would have more clearance and be protected more by setting higher in the frame. Anyone interested in seeing what I done just let me know. I have really great pics of the setup I made.

please post the pictures! what kind of mileage difference have you noticed if any? since my truck is in the shop getting a fresh set of injectors i would like to install this wonderful filtration system as to protect the injectors and maybe pick up a few mpgs. that is unless someone buys it from me first!

Bracket mod. I cut the piece you bolt the unit to loose from the part you mount to frame and turned it, then welded it back on. Simple, one cut and one weld.

I mounted the plate that bolts to frame onto the frame and mounted the unit onto it's plate before I welded and found the exact spot I wanted it to sit before I tacked and welded I took the unit back off the bracket, then put it back on before putting it under truck. Be hard to get to the bolts once it's bolted to frame.

removed this junk from filler neck to allow use of the larger nozzles at some truck stations

maybe a mile or 2 per gallon, not sure because I done the EJw/A at about the same time so I can't be positive how much the AD150 gave me. Piece of mind on the worries of bad fuel is enough for me. I can tell you this........... with the EJ cranked up and the AD150 off she tends to fall on her face, but not with it on. And I love opening that fuel cap and hearing all that fuel being returned to the tank............. makes me feel like I am realing saving money :D

cool. if i got 1mpg better i would be excited. i will continue to use the bully dog with the truck as well. biggest reason i want the air dog is for the filtration as well. im thinking i want to install it as soon as my truck gets back with its fresh set of injectors.:smile5: how difficult was this thing to hook up? the air dog that is...

It's no trouble at all Justin. Tank is simple to drop, just remember not to have much fuel in the tank before you start the upgrade, I had about 7-10 gallons in mine which made it much easier to handle. Call me when you get ready if you have issues. Oh, I recommend you get a fuel line disconnect tool, if you do not have one........makes that much easier.
Mine had a slight air/suction leak when I first turned it on at one of the JIC fittings on the pump, caused it to be noisier than I expected, but one little twist took care of that and the noise went completely away. Let me know if you need anything bro.

thanks! where did you get your fuel line disconnect tool at? im not real sure if they are all pretty much universal or what not. also I have a small little pump thing that i attach to a drill and can suck all the fuel out of the tank prior:thumbsup: we can thank my mother for that when she put gas in her old diesel!

You can pick up one of the fuel line disconnect tools at most any auto parts house........... just be sure you get the large one for GM's........... I had one of the smaller style, for mild gassers & older diesel lines, but the diesel lines are much larger on the newer diesels.
On edit: Mine looks kinda like a X with a swivel in middle and they only cost about $9.00
