Aftermarket Wheel Offsets??

I was wondering what offset you guys are running with your after market wheels? I am looking at getting some 17X9 wheels, but I dont want them to stick out. The choices they have are -12 or +6. I am thinking that I need to go with the +6 to prevent them from sticking out to offset the additional width, but I dont want them to sit too far in. I like the stock offset.
