adjusting a steering box

It's the ring that threads on and has the 3 nothes cut in it.

Great! Thank you for fast response. I was thinking that it was referring to the locking ring that was referenced in earlier steps, but I wanted to make sure I didn't mess that up. I also wanted to make sure that I didn't need to loosen the center adjuster/jam nut in step 8 prior to doing this first adjustment. Thank you again for this great information.
 
Yet again the wealth of GMT knowledge known as THEFERMANATOR comes to my aid. First came your priceless assistance the firmware debacle and now help with this nicely detailed write-up. I'll try this before replacing the gearbox. Thank you again!
