I have a buddy in trouble with his brakes on a 1996 K1500 Cheyenne.

Sometimes, brakes work almost fine. Then, at random, the ABS ligth lite on, and he loose his brakes. He has to pump several time on the brake pedal before he can recover brakes. That can last a day or 2, then things go back to normal for a day or 2, and it fails again.
At the moment, this is growing worse.

I hoohed my laptop and could not find any code, even in historic
none stored in memory---

Any idea?

Not sure if the '96 is the same, but on my '95 I pulled the 60A ABS fuse. This disabled the malfunctioning ABS module and has allowed the brakes to work normally for 8+ years. Just have to live with the ABS idiot light...

Before my old 96 blew up I had that problem, unplugged every wire going to the box on the driver side inner well, fixed everything ;)
