About ready to pull the trigger on DB2 conversion for a 1994

Can anybody that has done this offer any insights? The drivetrain is a '94 6.5TD/NV4500, so I won't have to worry about the TCM and apparently the ESS, TPS, etc. I've read Mr. Martin's conversion guide several times through and still a little confused, but mostly due to my severe lack of experience with these engines in general. I start getting twisted up around the part of setting the timing, whether I need a lumy probe, etc.

I've been chatting in email with a seller here that has a DB2 pump rebuilt by US Diesel Parts, which is a company I'm not familiar with, any input on the quality of their work? I know some vendors in the pump business are regarded as good and others, not so good...?

I'd like to go ahead and make my decision so I can send payment and quit harassing this poor guy through email. He's probably wondering by now if I'm actually a serious buyer. ;)

You wouldn't have to twist my arm too far to switch, but it's your lil red wagon.

I've heard of Diesel USA Group which one of their franchises Columbus Diesel Supply did my DB2.

Since you're a 5 speed it would be easy. EASY.

Timing is no biggie, start at straight up zero (physical marks on IP and housing) and go from there. Lumy probe, yeah, but your ears and your butt will let you know when it's right.
 
Thanks Louis, I've already read the guide several times and since it addresses both automatic & manual trans trucks, it's kind of confusing. He does say a few times that "if you have a manual you can skip the next section" but the information isn't as clearly delineated as I would like! But mostly I'm sure my confusion is due to my inexperience with the diesel.
