Hey, my names Jacob. i just joined this forum. i have 94 extended cab silverado with beige/tan interior. i was wondering what all i would need to put an aftermarket stereo in it. it has a tape player in it btw. i was wondering if i didnt need the whole dash kit or not? thanks

Going to have to remove the cassette player. Install the new deck with mounting face plate kit. You will also need to purchase the "bucket" for where the old radio was, or just leave your radio there if you don't want to spend the cash.

Seems as if there are two ways to do it..
Ebay as a reference example.

You can buy an adapter kit and keep your vent pieces:

You can also buy a vent kit already molded to accept an aftermarket radio:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/88-94-Chevy...shboard_Installation_Kits&hash=item5d3504b3e9

Also a replacement box can be bought to put in place of your old radio:

that first option isnt actually compatible with a 94 silverado. it just doesnt make sense that there isnt a way to just mount the radio where the pre-existing tape player and tuner is. i basically have that dash piece already.
