Romans 3:22-24
Not sure if this is the right place for this, but I just bought a 92 Subaru SVX LS, with awd and 130k miles on it for $900 last night. I offered 8 before handing over the cash, he said 850, and I only had 100's, (and he helped me load in the cold rain), so I just handed over the $900. Needed a new battery and needs a new cv axle (or joint) - sounded like all those times I broke a driveshaft on my jeep, only it was coming from the passenger front wheel well. Car started right up, everything electronic appears to be working (slight fuzz in the passenger rear speaker). Even the fog lights work. I haven't figured out how to lock the steering wheel in the upper most position, which is the only position I can fit my long legs in..
When loading on the trailer, the front tires slipped on the wet metal ramps. (Read online that the usual power distribution is 90/10 front/rear, but will redistribute to a maximum of 50/50 when needed.) Shifted to 1st gear and it crawled right up the ramps, no problems.
Transmissions overheating on these was a huge deal. Didn't have the option of a manual transmission because it couldn't withstand the stock 230hp, but the auto still had overheating issues. I'm planning on changing the fluid to synthetic, maybe adding an additive (if I feel that it'll work), and an aftermarket tranny cooler, if I can find a place for it, and if I can figure out how to hook it in.
The spoiler looks horrible - looks like all the paint is off, so it looks like I'll be learning on how to repair fiberglass. If it appears to be a decently dependable vehicle (once I'm finished), and too tight for my long legs (I'm 6'3"), I'll probably try and sell it for $4k-$5k, or less if I sell it to a future brother-in-law or cousin that both are shorter than me.
(I'll add pictures when I get a chance. Right now I only have the one which the car is on the trailer. BTW-uhaul auto transports are nice! Seems I've used them before, but I forgot about the folding fender....pulled the car on, crawled thru the window, than rolled the window up and left the key in the ignition for the drive back. Figured out the fender to unload it though, haha.)
