700r4 valve body swap

Can you take the auxiliary valve body off of a 700r4 and put the separator plate and aux valve body block off plate off of a 1985 700r4 on it and it work?
 
Yes as long as the proper check ball locations are observed. Don't forget to use the correct new gaskets as they correspond with the seperator plate and check balls.
