700r4 is shot wanting a th350

i have an 87 k10 reverse is out of the what I believe and looks to be a 700r4 I can find th350's allday long but no 700's that are good truck has been converted from tbi to a carb

big question is how much work will I be getting into??????
 
Different lengths. TH350 needs a spacer between the existing t-case and trans. I'd rebuild the 700, personally.
 
Further, no reverse could be a broken 'reaction sun shell' Common to loose 2-4 and R when this happens. Still have to tear into it to replace.

Burnt fluid could indicate deeper problems.

A mis-adjusted Throttle Valve cable can wreak havoc on these TH700R4s.
