Guys, I acquired a 95 Burb, with a blown engine (believe the crank is toast).

I have a decent 6.2 engine kicking around and am hoping to drop that in.

What I need to know... is whats different?

Things I am aware of...

- Oil supply for the turbo (thinking I can T in at the pressure sensor?)

- 6.2 is a 2 piece rear main seal - is the flex plate the same?????

Are those the only things I need to pay attention to? or are there other major differences that will give me headaches?

For the record, I have the dead engine about ready to lift out. Pulling it with the torque converter attached should be a blast!!

Oh yeah... I knew that too!

I knew I had to change the timing chain/gears in the 6.2, because it has a phazer gear drive in it currently. Thats probably why I didnt remember it for my little list above.

Looks good.

All good info.

The 6.2 can install right in the place of a 6.5 and go right to work.

Use the timing cover and the DS4 will go right in and go to work.

Oil pan, water pump, IP lines are different. I think the angle of the exhaust ports??
My 6.5 oil pan would not fit the 6.2 because of the rear main cap/seal.
