5.7 diesel up and running

Today I’m hoping to accomplish the muffler mounting on each side.Last night before heading in I did install a Napa 1049 extra capacity oil filter.It holds almost a full liter of oil.This filter is probably the largest you can install on olds V8 engines.The wix number is 51049.

The picture attached shows the difference between the Napa 1049,the 1258 which is one of the 1978 oil filters that were used on those engines and the Napa gold 1522 in later years is another filter that was common.As you can see there’s a huge difference in capacity.I’ll definitely use the 1049 in the future.
