Help I have a 4l80e that will not go into lockup. I have all gears no trouble with up or down shifts. lockup rarely occurs like it use to in 3rd gear at 47 mph or 4th at 65 mph. it has 171,000 miles on it. Had anybody every had a brake switch cause this issue. Once ago I had an ignition switch go bad and it would send fire no fuel, or send fuel no fire. I have all gears but no lock up. Has anybody found a switch problem that could cause this?

IIRC there is an internal temp sensor and if it's malfunctioning could cause no lockup.

check the temp sensor on drivers side head.

That one is for the gauge, has no effect on the trans. The one near the T-stat is always the one for the controller.
