4l80e kickdown surging

I have a 96 K3500 454 with 4l80e 4x4. Today my cruise control was surging then when I stepped on the pedal, the rpms jumped to 4300 then up and down 1000 rpm, failing to accelerate above 65. Then I noticed the speedometer would drop around 65 mph, refusing to go higher but I am sure I was accelerating. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated before I start looking at a shop.:(
