4L60E swap in a 4L80E??

I got a buddy with a 4L60E that has the planetary setup rattling in it(this is what a trans shop told him, he was abusing the crap out of it and the Transfer case ended up bearings in T case are out too)...BUT around us theirs no 4L60E's available right now, so can we swap in a 4L80E?? Its in a 93 1/2ton chevy 4X4.....any info is appreciated!!!

This will work on new style trucks, but the GMT-400 is different. I'll try and see if I can find the post on FSC that covers this swap on OBS trucks.

Yup, gent from Australian did one in a burb, it's on FSC...

He has a much better thread on pacificp.com forums, username "hquick", real name Howard. Pacific also doesn't have the "drama" you have to usually deal with on FSC....
