350/4l80e?

As far as bolting together, bell housing to engine block, yes. Now, give us more details, such as what engine was in front of the 4L80E in the 96 GMC to start with, what's being swapped over from the old engine to the new in the way of throttle body, etc, as the wiring harnesses may not be "plug and play" between the two. If not a 5.7 to 5.7 swap, there's the obvious ECM issues. There may also be flex plate to torque converter bolt pattern issues, etc.

Ok the 96 had a 5.7 in it and I still have everything from the old motor but not swapping anything unless have to most likely intake and the wiring harness.

I don't see any major issues jumping up and biting you in the rear in the swap. Having the donor motor handy for wiring harness issues, etc., is very helpful.
