2WD indicator light question

Happy New Year everyone!

My question is for guys with a floor shift transfer case.

Does your 2WD light illuminate without the parking and/or headlight lights on?

I just replaced my front axle drive actuator and when in 4WD (low or high), the front axle picture lights up, but not the rear axle. It (the rear axle picture) only lights up when my parking lights or headlights are switched on.

I don't remember the 2WD lighting up without the light switch on and I looked in the GM service manual without finding the answer...

Thanks for any replies.

Realized this question should be under "Drivetrain" and maybe "Electrical" instead of "Trans"...
