Installed HID's on my 2011 and they just will not stay lit!

They are the 35watt 6000K kit. I first tried the kit with out the harness. Worked fine for a while and then it started flickering and then just going out on one side, usually the drivers side.
So I called customer service and we decided the headlight control module was probably causing the problems.
Fine, send me the relay harness and cancellers.
So tonight I go out and install the harness, same problem. Then I install the cancellers and still the same result.
Yes, I had both the harness and cancellers installed at the same time.

I have removed the fuses for the DRL with no luck.

I'm out of options and removed the whole thing from the truck. I can't drive around with headlights turning off at any random moment.

Do the Denali's come with HID's like the 1500's? Can I reflash the truck for HID's? This would probably cure the problem since the truck wants to see 55W bulbs and the HID's are 35W.

Any thoughts?

Wow that sucks...Usually headlights are 12v in and that's that. Maybe the set is bad? I can't see GM having computer control of the actual headlight voltage. On is on and off is off. I'm leaning to the idea the hid kit is bad. Try the kit on another vehicle to rule it out.

If you don't Mind doing it, just have the Relay get it's Turn-On Signal from the Parking Lights.

The only thing, is all your Lights will either be On or Off. You won't have the Option of Running just Parking Lights, unless you put a Switch on the Trigger Wire of the Relay for the HID's.

I see your point, I will try it when I get a few minutes to re install the system.
The real problem is tearing the shit apart to get back to the bulbs, what a pain in the ass these trucks can be
Thanks James, I'll let you know

Can someone tell me if i can reprogram the truck for HID's with a tech II? I'm thinking this may solve the problem as well...?

I Doubt it, but if you wanna Try, give the Software for an Escalade a Shot.

Tapping the Parking Lights is going to be the Easiest thing to do though.

Ok Thanks.
Are the headlights on these trucks pulsed voltage? If so, that could be the real problem but I would have thought the relay and capaciter would have eliminated that problem. Tech support said Dodge trucks have this same problem but he could not tell me how to fix it.

The reason for the reflash question is in the fuse box under the hood the headlight relay says HID on it (?)

Yea, the Relay should have Fixed it without the Caps, and once you got the Caps, that should have DEF. Fixed it. Unless it's a New CAN-BUS System that hasn't been Figured Out yet.

Dodge / Chrysler people do the Parking Light Tap, or hope that the Caps will Work.

Yea, to keep Costs Down, they just use the same Fuse Box for all the Trucks. My Avalanche and Duramax all have the Spot in them for HID's, because the Escalade uses the same Fuse Box, which has HID's Stock.

Thanks James, I talked to the people today and they are sending me the regular ballasts. I bought the slim ballast. They think the regulator in the digital ballast may have some effect on the system.
I will post back when i get those and try them. Or tap into the park lights for the trigger.
I would really like to have HID, especially after seeing them in action.

I hate the Slim Ballasts.

They are nothing but trouble.

Every Set I've ever done with the Slims, never Lasted longer than a Year.

I'm not a fan of P&P HID's without the proper reflector or projector. That's my view on it. If they use 9006/9005, Go HIR. They're still halogen, but bright as hell.

I feel the same way...but to a Point. Some Halogen Lamps actually Handle HID's very well.

These look very good in the truck when working. I have not gotten the flash from oncommers so I take it as a good sign.
I would have gone the H1R but these are H11 bulbs and the fogs are 5202. Could not find them for the either. I am currently looking for some for the highs though

According to the diagrams I have the headlamp system is only controlled on/off via the bcm grounding the relay. The relay in the diagram is called hdlp/hid. The gmc sierra denali is using the same diagrams as the sierra and silverado. Maybe they have plans for future changes.
