Yup. Depends what tey could get at what price that day. I cant remember exactly what year i bought mine (december of '04 or 05), but mine was from a dealership, and thats what they automatically quoted me.

other than the Navistar logo under the IP is there any other easy identifiers?
They could have also installed a Jasper engine

When GM sold the rights to the 6.5 late 1999 early 2000 the AMG Ohio plant went into production using NAVISTAR cast blocks It appears all the pre May 99 6.5's went into the H1 line which suffered many 6.5 failures while GM used the enhanced version MAY 99 & + until depleted and then the NAVISTAR 6500's for warranty replacement. Dates 1999/2000 above are confusing and actual production date seems to be unknown then one must wonder why the H1 line installed all the earlier failure prone 6.5's.
Lots of enhanced 6.5 info from GM is rumored to be untrue like the enhanced 1999 having 215 HP and lower compression. Some re-builders will only rebuild the enhanced and NAVISTAR 6.5 blocks.
Enhanced blocks look identical to the 6500 extra casting around the motor mounts (for GMT800 install) and sensor locations stepped main caps, small oil cooling jets and do not have NAVISTAR endless highway LOGO, the enhanced block also has less nickel content but has proven to be reliable in most applications.

Huh never really thought about this, so my truck was a GM buyback with engine replacement in 2003. Remind me whereabouts is the Navistar Logo in the valley supposed to be?

Getting the truck for 1k bad tranny engine has about 100k on it.
Seems like a deal, how is rest of truck?

Rest of the truck is actually pretty clean. Pretty nice interior but blue where as mine are red. RCLB

Nope. plowed snow all day from 8-5 got the plow stuff off and got a small start pulling things off.
