This past weekend, we went to Natchez State Park in Mississippi to camp and do a little fishing. I figured I'd bring the boat for my son and his buddies to use and have a little fun with. Hooked up the boat behind the 5er and took off. All and all, it wan't that bad. Had to watch for the shadow to make sure it was still there and be extra carefull changing lanes. Crossing the I-10 bridge with bumper to bumper traffic and having to change lanes twice was interesting to say the least but we managed just fine.

When I hooked it up, I measured and I was at 67' total to the back of the motor.

The next investment is a rear view camera for the trailer and a monitor for the truck.

That would scare the heck out of me...good thing I'd never be able to do it with our rig. It's 38' already behind the bumper.

A smaller boat like that one would just drag along for the ride anyhow...that's a good choice.

I don't even try to back up. Unhook the boat/trailer and then back up.

Yesterday I bought a camera to keep an eye on things. The one I bought has sound, infared and is color.
I get to hook it up this W/E.

The one I bought is really nice and come to find out, they are a major company and are experts in cameras for RV's and to top it off, they are local for me so I did have to pay sales tax but was able to pick it up directly.

Aw, you can back them up. It just takes some patients, and an extra set of eyes. But I only do it if it is absolutely necessary. Otherwise I just go around.

Got the monitor and camera hooked up and working great.

I centered the camera with the center window instead of the clearence lights like I should have. When I realized it, it was too late to change...Oh well.

thats some tight clearance with your RV port...optical illusion?

looks like your front A/C would hit it...

It's tight but it fits with about 10" of clearance. As long as I stay centered when backing it in, it works great. It fills the camper shed.

You've seen my 5er, it's pretty tall. I'm at about 13'5" when hooked up. I just watch what roads I tow on.

I'll take a picture from the front when I get a chance and it'll show that I have "plenty" of room.....LOL

I know the thread was started about towing, but how was the fishing? I am originally from Natchez and have fished that lake for 15 years. The last time I was there they added a bunch of grass carp that ate all of the grass and the fish were not as easy to find. I heard that they were trying to get rid of the carp now.

The fishing wasn't real good. It had been raining all week and the lake was very muddy. It was still a great weekend.

Since then, we went to Lake Lincoln State Park north of Brookhaven Ms. and it's a bigger lake and the fishing was a lot better. We were camping right on the water and the boys caught enough fish on Friday (bass & very lg. bream) to feed 8 of us on Friday night with lots of fish left over for lunch the next day. I think I'd prefer Lake Lincoln over Lake Natchez.

Good setup cw. Nice to be able to bring all your toys with ya.):h I'm ready for Summer and to bring my doubles out, too.

Count me in! I can't wait to hit the R I V E R!

Where are you at "Pure dizel" And where do you go with the boooat?

San Fernando Valley

The itching is getting worse. We're going to Laughlin, end of June, with friends. We usually make two trips to Lake San Antonio, Pyramid Lake is 40 minutes away, and Lake Piru in Fillmore(35 minutes).
Nacimiento is too low on water right now(36%). Thats why we go San Antonio(53%).
