1993 454 fan upgrades?

What about the later model plastic fans used on the vortec engines?
I wonder if the "pitch" on Big Block 8.1L fans is steeper than the 5.3L fans? Shown is a 5.3L fan on a 1993 454. The pitch appears to be less, the blades are 2" narrower, but, more of them.
Didn't appear to improve AC performance. New Condenser, standard o-tube, accumulator, new compressor. For some reason still getting metal on the O - tube at less than 100 miles use. Flushed system and exchanged all new parts. Still picking up metal. Exchanged again in case we got a bad compressor. 2.0 LB charge and 8 oz PAG 150 oil. High side is high. New Hayden fan clutch appears to work. Engine warms up at idle. Pusher fan wired on with AC clutch via relay.
We have the radiator being rebuilt at a radiator shop now. And are looking for a new fan shroud to replace the broken bottom half.
