This a 2008 Chevrolet 2500 HD with 6.0 that’s being parted out in Missoula which is close to me. I inquired about the rear axle which should be a 14 bolt Full Floater G80. He checked by VIN# and it’s 3.73 gear ratio, which is what I have in my ‘99. I would have to weld new spring perches as bounce pads in the proper positions to make it work in my ‘99. He wants $500, which is a decent price based on all the searching I’ve done.

Are there any specific differences with it being in a gas truck that would preclude it working in a diesel truck? Any additional questions I should be asking?

I went to check out this axle. RPO Codes G80 for limited slip and GT4 for 3.73 gear ratio. Truck had 188K miles on it when he bought it from salvage. Parting out wrecks is his side hustle. He had already sold the engine and transmission.

I will need to check old threads here on where to buy spring perches and bounce pads.
