Well, after debating it for a few months, I finally snapped and picked up a new Raptor 700.:biggrin5:

Since I picked it up last week, I probably have close to ten hours on it. This is a very impressive machine. Very comfortable for a big guy (6'0" 290#). The suspension is outstanding. The fuel injection is nice too. Starts up everytime without touching the throttle.

Its quick too:yikes: The engine is very powerful and full of torque on the low and mid range. It likes to be short shifted as it evens out on the high end. Perhaps a pipe and controller will wake up the top end a bit. Probably will go to a 1 tooth bigger sprocket in front.

This is the best bike I have been on for the trails. It is very versatile. My last quad was an 86 250R, which I loved, but the 700 is hands down more fun for me.

If anyone is thinking about this bike, you won't be dissapointed.

I'll post up some pictures a bit later.

Couple shots.

Lookin'

I hear that a pipe and a Dynojet EFI controller work pretty good for those things.

I've got a YFZ450 myself.

I've got an 07 GYTR edition and love it.It's piped efi controller and bigger air cleaner and intake tube, I'm thinking of adding the header yet.

I'm heading to Sacramento tomorrow morning...can't wait to get on some of those mountain trails:hurray:

The easiest way to wake the bike up is to install the mod quad air intake:

Between my extended family and I, we have 7 of the raptor 700's. Best all around bike for everything you throw at it. And with just the simple air intake, it makes them way more snappy and you can really feel the power.

When you are running in the sand/trails and they aren't wet, just pull the top of the air box off and it gets even better.

See, I've heard the opposite on this as well. I'd like to mod mine for some more power but its torquey enough and I assumed that the Rincon 700's dont really suck in enough air to warrant an intake kit...I'd rather get one of those programmers for it. Ive also seen dyno charts to where a full exhaust does nothing at all for power at any range...Just makes it louder...

We just got back from sandlake dunes and was playing around with my dads new 08 700. Compared to my wifes with just an intake, its a lot more sluggish. The throttle response is a ton slower than with the mod.

Needless to say, he jumped on my wifes bike, played around with it and as soon as we got home he ordered one up.

Just my .02$
