i just drove my 06 2500 from cal to mich starting last wed. yesterday in indiana it started missing at idle. now today in mich it is missing at idle and at most rpm ranges. it is missing about 75% of the time. i changed the fuel filter today the same. any ideas?

Glad to see you made it over here Ftoy. Your in good hands now, its nothing like pirate here.
Like I said, try and find someone who can get you a reading on how much rail pressure your making. At idle it should be around 5000 psi on the common rail engines, and can spike to around as much as 20,000psi. Also see how much fuel pressure you are getting coming into the High pressure pump from the fuel tank, might be a sign that your in tank fuel pump is taking a dump.
Hopefully cumminalong will chime in here too. That man is a genius on these engines :thumbsup:

Please take a moment to fill out your signature to let everyone know what kind of truck you are driving, and any possible modifications you have made.
Maybe a bad batch of fuel? Maybe clogged injectors? Possible try some fuel additive for a quick fix to see if that does anything.

Is Cal short for California?? If so maybe your fuel is gelling? Might be some fuel you bought aint made for these colder temps here??? Just a shot in the dark....
i took it to the stealer and it was under warranty no 2 inj was bad. they also wanted to do a fuel injector service. wow these trucks are under filtered badly. i am looking into aftermarket filters to put on before the trip back to California. also thanks for your support bro. those pirate guys are f'd up. that site is no good anymore to many assholes

Glad to hear it was something simple, and it was covered under warranty. Call up Dog House diesel performance(he is also a vendor here). He can hook you up with either a FASS or airdog unit to take care of your filtration issue. Given the amount of miles your driving and the amount of fuel your consuming it wouldn't be a bad investment on your part. Rich, the owner even put together a comparison writeup comparing the two products. Both where installed on dodge diesels.
